Gokyo lake trek is an alternative to classical treks in the Khumbu region. It’s especially designed for travellers who are eager to experience the magnificent view of the Everest range. Gokyo lake is third highest lake in the world. A few stone made houses are located at the lake area making Gokyo one of the highest settlements in the world.
The trekking trail follows the Everest Base Camp trail up to Sanasa, then the trail follows Dudh Koshi river. We also get chance to explore the lifestyle of the high altitude dwellers. At Gokyo-Ri we can see five over 8000 meters high mountain peaks: Mount Everest, Cho Oyu, Lhotse, Makalu and Kanchenjunga.
