Everest Base Camp

Description

Mount Everest (8,848m) is the top of the world. In 1952 May 29 Sherpa Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary successfully ascended the Mount Everest. Since then many people have been dreaming to do the Everest Base Camp trek once in their life.

The trekking trail goes through traditional and cultural Sherpa villages. During the trek we can see many peaks, flora and fauna, a waterfall, culturally decorated houses and the lifestyle of Sherpa ethnic group.

Kalapathar is the most beautiful view point. From there we can see a few peaks that are over 8000 meters high and numerous other peaks over 6,000 meters. The beautiful Khumbu icefall and the Lobuche-La, Chola and Ranjo passes are other attractions of the Everest region.

Every year in May 29 there is a Everest marathon (42.195 km) which is highest marathon of the world itself. It starts from the Everest Base Camp (5364 m).
