Upper Mustang, the hidden world of the old Buddhist kingdom is where people with Tibetan origin migrated to Nepal centuries ago. In the Upper Mustang Tibetan buddhism is still being practiced in the original unchanged form. The life of Mustang is untouched by globalization and modern civilization and it goes as it has for centuries. The trek to Upper Mustang goes through barren landscape with Tibetan style villages.

The main attractions of Upper Mustang trek include remote Himalayan desert, unique ecology and geology of the ancient villages, Buddhist art, stunning view of Dhaulagiri range and Annapurna range, ancient cave, monasteries and temples with rich history. The capital of Upper Mustang is Lo-Manthang and in total there are 33 ancient villages in Upper Mustang area with their own unique lifestyle and cultural heritage.
